Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
