During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the need for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Because of the economic recession during the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine needs to be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the advantages of a 48V DC equipment.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the job area and work site.
