Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names including: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine while they pick up and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads utilizing these machines. A rider might be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap method for transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which could operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
