A type of equipment in the material handling business which could be utilized to lift and transport loads from one location to another is called a forklift. Every component of a forklift has a particular function. Different parts can be used to move the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the components that lift and lower the load. There are various types of masts utilized for lifting loads to various heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is underneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is situated in the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all located in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the biggest forklift parts is the truck frame. This consists of the counterweights situated at the rear that prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
