Narrow Aisle Forklifts
There are especially made forklifts that operate in narrow warehouse aisles. These machinery are often known as narrow aisle or very narrow aisle forklifts. They can easily negotiate smaller aisles and allow you to enjoy several benefits. Like for instance, the increased amount of space to store objects can greatly increase the overall available inventory of a company.
Narrow aisle lift trucks are able to maneuver easily too. These machines have been particularly engineered to move without much space. Their different design has eliminated many of the items which are squished up into the design of the conventional lift truck's main body.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle forklifts is that they are very slow in comparison to standard forklifts. Narrow aisle forklifts will not work if you have to transport objects across long distances. When it comes to speed they will not be a reliable choice. If you also have a regular forklift, this would not be an issue. You can simply use the narrow aisle lift truck to transport the load to a central location and after that hand it off to a regular forklift that could travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely method. Frequently, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they would not be really useful.
Electric Lift Trucks
Conventional gas lift trucks are not a suitable alternative for indoor applications like warehouses or stores. They will not be as safe because of their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful compared to an electric powered model. Electric lift trucks are often engineered to look and work a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries which should be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered lift truck has become more common and for a variety of reasons. These machinery could help companies save expenses on fuel. Electric units would initially cost more, but will ultimately save you more over time. For instance, when gas prices increase, you would save a lot of cash as you will not be affected. Electric units tend to last quite a bit longer than gas powered models also. This is partly due to the fact they are mostly used indoors and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric units are healthier to use in badly ventilated places such as warehouses and indoor applications because they don't emit noxious fumes. It can be extremely dangerous to use gas or diesel lift trucks indoors.
The electric forklift does have some disadvantages like the fact that they could really just work for around 8 hours. After that the machinery would have to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Numerous companies get around this condition by purchasing an extra battery so they could have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market that are also minimizing the charging time.
