Rough terrain forklifts have been manufactured by CareLift Equipment, since 1962. Every day the company strives to deliver value and help all their consumers reach their goals as they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These models are articulated boom lifts and straight boom lifts. Normally, these models are hydraulically powered. Most commonly straight booms are the ideal choice for jobs that require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating three hundred sixty degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator is able to steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machinery. These models are available in 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, as well as propane, gas or diesel configurations.
The articulated boom lifts are used for jobs that need to reach up and over obstacles so as to gain access. These specialized lifts are utilized for jobs which are not easily carried out by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to easily move around any objects in the work site.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers in order to maintain stability while the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Correct training is required prior to operating boom lifts in order to guarantee the operator, the jobsite and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable jobs which used to need many more man hours to be completed in a much shorter time period. These machines have greatly increased productivity and have changed the material handling business.
