Most mishaps are attributed to staff who are not properly trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all workers who are utilizing the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't properly trained to operate the forklift. Your business should develop and post in a location which is visible all forklift safety measures.
Rather than going through training because staff are required to, they must have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help staff understand the importance of proper training. Let them know that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your staff go through training seriously.
